In this workshop created alongside the development of Lucia’s one-woman show Vegan Gluten Free, Lucia will lead mothers through creative and artistic exercises to reflect upon and share their experiences of becoming a mother in relation to cultural expectations and contemporary society.

Lucia will lead a workshop for mothers exploring people’s experience on motherhood about cultural clashes, immigrants experience, generational gaps etc through free writing, conversation and physical movements. The participants will have this time and space to share the difficult and sweet time as mothers during the pandemic period. This workshop is a part of R&D process for Lucia’s project, Vegan Gluten Free, after she first presented it at the scratch night of CAN Festival 2020.

Lucia Tong

Lucia is a performer & theatre maker based in London. Originally from Hong Kong, Lucia studied contemporary dance & physical theatre at the University of California-Berkeley while earning a BSc in Environmental Science and has since worked on stage & film with companies in the UK & worldwide. Lucia creates multi-disciplinary works with her own company Pangea Art exploring human experience through physical storytelling.
