About

Come join us in tackling the Climate Crisis with food and cooking!

We are excited to invite you to a series of delicious, interactive and performative sit-down tastings and short talks over four days – featuring no less than three tasty low carbon dishes chosen and developed by London’s East and South East Asian communities alongside acclaimed Asian food writers and a data scientist.

A pop-up structure will be installed in London Chinatown as part of London Design Festival 2022. Built from low carbon materials and processes, the structure will host a series of sit-down tasters, discussions and talks on the data science of climate change, Chinese heritage and food culture.

The low carbon pop up stand

Low Carbon Chinatown is a project by designer, artist and CAN associate director, Ling Tan. The low carbon pop up structure is designed by Ling Tan and designer Usman Haque, with the support of structural engineers Atelier One.
