Jia-Yu will share an interactive workshop as a part of her R&D process on her current project. She is exploring an artistic language which can transform local ritual/religion experience into performing arts.

Jia-Yu Corti

Jia-Yu’s artistic practice spans dance, choreography and performance art. Since 2011, her performances in galleries and theatres have sourced material from Butoh, Chinese dance and pop culture. A freelance dance artist based in London, Jia-Yu was trained in Chinese martial arts, Ballet, Contemporary dance, somatic practices and Improvisation and has gained a Dance Diploma from National Taiwan Academy of Arts, BFA Modern Dance from U of Utah and MA Choreography from London Contemporary Dance School. She has performed internationally and presented work in the UK, Taiwan and Switzerland. Her collaborative work with Owen Ridley Demonic, Snakes, was first shown in CAN’s Scratch Festival 2019.
