Since 2007, Filming East Festival has been devoted to screen and promote films that reflect the cultural richness and diversity of Chinese speaking regions. As part of CAN Festival 2019, Filming East will screen two award-winning contemporary feature films that explore lives and stories in two completely different regions of China and host a British Chinese Film Day.

“British Chinese Film Day”

Short Film Session (1 hour in total) +Q&A, 60 mins

This session will screen the films of the Filming East Short Film Award winners, which is the competition of short films mainly produced by Chinese ethnicity filmmakers in the U.K with various genres including narrative, animation, fashion video, and documentary.
